Description

ACTION OF CALCIUM CHLORIDE (FLAKES):

Calcium chloride in flake form is a versatile chemical product, regarded as one of the most effective and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional road salt. As a winter road maintenance agent, it stands out for its exceptional efficiency in extremely low temperatures, working effectively even at drops down to -30°C. Its unique feature is the exothermic moisture absorption process – upon contact with snow or ice it generates heat, allowing for rapid thawing of frozen ground. The product is safe for the natural environment: when introduced into the soil it improves its structure and raises pH, which is beneficial in areas with acidic soil. Additionally, calcium chloride has wide agrotechnical applications as a calcium fertiliser, dust control agent on roads, and stabiliser in agricultural machinery.

Advantages of using Calcium Chloride:

- Effectiveness in frost: Actively dissolves ice and snow at temperatures down to -30°C (theoretically even to -55°C), outperforming traditional rock salt.

- Safety for surroundings: Does not cause erosion of concrete surfaces, does not damage footwear, metals, rubber, and does not harm plants, lawns or animals.

- Agricultural versatility: Works excellently as a foliar calcium fertiliser, improving the quality of fruit and vegetables.

- Dust control: Effectively binds dust on gravel roads, tennis courts and sports fields, preventing dust formation.

- Wheel ballast: As a non-freezing solution it is ideal for filling tyres of agricultural and construction machinery without degrading rubber.

CALCIUM CHLORIDE ACTIVE SUBSTANCE CONTENT:

calcium chloride (CaCl2) – dihydrate, white, odourless solid in flake form.

APPLICATION RANGE AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

Use in winter road maintenance:

The product is intended for de-icing roads, pavements, stairs, driveways and car parks. Due to the absence of aggressive corrosive action, it can be safely used near permanent greenery plantings and on more delicate surfaces. The preparation leaves no residue and does not damage vehicle bodywork.

Applications in agriculture and horticulture:

Foliar fertilisation of fruit trees

Calcium chloride effectively supplements calcium deficiencies, which is crucial for yield quality. Fruits properly supplied with this element are firmer, do not crack during ripening and show significantly higher storage durability.

Dose: It is recommended to use an aqueous solution at 6-8% concentration.

Efficiency: approx. 500 litres of spray liquid per hectare.

Cultivation of cabbage vegetables (control of tipburn)

Regular use of the preparation eliminates the problem of leaf edge necrosis (tipburn), which manifests as unsightly brown tips and can lead to tissue decay.

Dose:

– Young plants: 0.7% solution

– Growing and mature plants: 1% solution

Efficiency: 500-1000 litres of spray liquid per hectare (preventive application).

Other technical applications:

Dust reduction (dirt roads, courts, fields)

The product prevents dust from rising on unpaved surfaces, improving comfort and safety of sports facilities and access roads. The amount and composition of the mixture should be selected experimentally depending on conditions.

Recommended form: 30% aqueous solution.

Ballasting machinery and industry

Calcium chloride solution is used for ballasting wheels in construction machinery and agricultural tractors. This fluid is freeze-resistant and unlike other agents, does not cause degradation of rubber and tyre rubber. In the chemical industry flakes are also used for drying gases and liquids in synthesis processes.
