Tonale Sumi Agro is a selective herbicide with systemic action, used soil-applied and foliar-applied in the form of a mixture of CS and SC formulations for dilution with water (ZC).

The product is intended for use with self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayers.

Tonale Sumi Agro - mode of action:

The herbicide contains three active substances with different mechanisms and spectra of action. Chlormazon inhibits the synthesis of chlorophyll and carotenoids (plant pigments), is absorbed by the roots of germinating seeds and translocated to the stems of sensitive weeds causing bleaching. Mesotrione is mainly absorbed through the leaves and additionally through the roots of weeds and rapidly translocated within the plant, inhibiting their growth and development. It causes inhibition of carotenoid biosynthesis in weeds, resulting in chlorophyll destruction. Terbuthylazine belongs to the group of photosynthesis inhibitors in photosystem II, mainly absorbed by plant roots, initially causing leaf chlorosis visible especially in the interveinal spaces, as well as on edges and tips. Often symptoms are not even visible as weed death occurs during emergence.

Tonale Sumi Agro herbicide - active substance content:

  • Chlormazon – compound from the isoxazolidinone group – 40 g/l (3.56%),
  • Mesotrione – compound from the triketone group – 75 g/l (6.67%),
  • Terbuthylazine – compound from the triazine group – 375 g/l (33.33%).

According to HRAC classification, the active substance chlormazon belongs to group 27 (formerly group F2), mesotrione to group 13 (formerly group F4), and terbuthylazine to group 5 (formerly group C1).

Tonale Sumi Agro - controlled weeds, pre-emergence treatment:

Sensitive weeds:

  • annual grass,
  • field pansy,
  • common lambsquarters,
  • sea mayweed,
  • bindweed knotweed,
  • bird knotweed,
  • volunteer oilseed rape,
  • field pennycress,

Tonale Sumi Agro herbicide - use in crops:

Agricultural crops:

Tonale Sumi Agro herbicide - pre-harvest interval and withholding period:

Pre-harvest interval - period from the last application of the product to the day of crop harvest:

  • Not required.

Withholding period - period from application of the product to the day when people and animals may enter the treated area:

  • Do not enter until the spray liquid on the plant surfaces has completely dried.

Tonale Sumi Agro herbicide - succeeding crops:

The product decomposes during the growing season to a level that does not pose a threat to subsequently grown crops. In case of the need to destroy the treated crop earlier due to frost, pests or diseases damage, after ploughing in spring it is recommended to grow only maize in the same year.

Tonale Sumi Agro herbicide - preparation of spray liquid:

Prepare the spray liquid immediately before use. Before preparing the spray liquid, accurately determine the required volume and amount of product. When filling the sprayer, follow the sprayer manufacturer's instructions. If no instructions are available, add the measured amount of product to the sprayer tank partially filled with water (with the agitator on). Use the spray liquid immediately after preparation. Rinse empty containers three times with water and pour the rinsate into the sprayer tank with spray liquid, top up with water to the required volume and mix thoroughly. After adding the product to a sprayer tank without hydraulic agitation, mix the liquid mechanically. In case of breaks during spraying, mix the spray liquid thoroughly before resuming work.
