Description

Trico Silva – professional protection of trees and grapevines from game

Trico Silva is a ready-to-use repellent intended for the protection of forest areas and grapevine crops against damage caused by browsing game. The product contains sheep fat 14.1 g/kg (1.41%) and is intended for use by professional users.

The preparation repels animals using aromatic and taste substances. In forest areas, it protects deciduous and coniferous trees from winter browsing by roe deer, red deer, and other cervid species. In grapevine cultivation, it reduces damage caused by hares and wild rabbits.

How does Trico Silva work?

Trico Silva acts as a repellent deterring game through aromatic and taste substances. The product is a ready-to-use paste (PA) applied directly to the parts of trees or shrubs requiring protection.

A dye is included with the preparation to mark the protected parts of plants. This facilitates identification of the treated areas and control of the correct application.

Use of Trico Silva in forest areas

In coniferous and deciduous stands, Trico Silva is intended to prevent winter browsing by game.

  • roe deer
  • red deer
  • other cervid species

The product should be applied in late autumn or winter, applying a thin and even layer to the parts of trees that need to be protected from browsing.

Trico Silva in grapevine protection

In grapevine cultivation, Trico Silva is used to reduce damage caused by browsing hares and wild rabbits.

  • hare
  • wild rabbit

The treatment can be performed in autumn, just before winter or early spring, from the beginning of leaf fall (BBCH 93) to the end of bud swelling (BBCH 03).

How to apply Trico Silva

The product is ready to use and can be applied directly using gloves or a brush. If necessary, stir briefly before application.

Apply a thin and even layer to the protected parts of plants. For a durable coating, the product must dry after application. Do not apply if rain is expected or if the coating will not dry before rain or fog occurs.

Conditions for treatment

  • do not apply at air temperatures below 0°C
  • do not apply if a drop below 0°C is expected
  • do not apply to wet or frozen plants
  • ensure the applied coating can dry
