Description
Volkete Max – professional insecticide based on spinosad
Volkete Max is an insecticide in the form of a concentrate as a suspension concentrate (SC), intended for the control of chewing and sucking pests in field and orchard crops. The product is approved for use exclusively by professional users.
The preparation contains the active substance spinosad (spinosyn A and D) at a concentration of 480 g/l, belonging to the group of macrocyclic lactones (IRAC group 5).
Mode of action
Spinosad acts on the insect nervous system as an activator of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, causing paralysis, feeding inhibition and rapid pest mortality. The product exhibits contact and stomach action, and acts both superficially and systemically within the plant.
The active substance is obtained through fermentation of soil bacteria Saccharopolyspora spinosa, making Volkete Max a valuable component of integrated plant protection strategies.
Application and target pests
Volkete Max is intended for the protection of vegetables and orchards against key pests, especially sensitive larval stages.
- caterpillars of the cabbage white and the large white butterfly
- tobacco thrips
- light brown apple moth
The highest effectiveness is achieved when treating the youngest developmental stages of pests, according to current monitoring.
Usage recommendations
Apply the product using field or orchard sprayers, ensuring thorough coverage of plants, including the underside of leaves. Volkete Max works most effectively at temperatures from 8°C to 25°C.
To reduce the risk of resistance development, it is recommended to use the product in accordance with insecticide rotation principles involving different modes of action.
Benefits of using Volkete Max
- rapid inhibition of pest feeding
- high efficacy at low doses
- contact and stomach action
- important element of anti-resistance strategy (IRAC 5)
- can be used in integrated plant protection programmes
Notes
Volkete Max is hazardous to bees – do not apply during flowering of plants or on plantations with flowering weeds.
The product must be used strictly according to the plant protection product label, observing required pre-harvest intervals and buffer zones.
