Description

Salmag with boron - fertiliser with nitrogen, calcium, magnesium and boron

What are the benefits of using the boron fertiliser Salmag by Grupa Azoty?

  • Eliminates boron deficiency,
  • Contains similar amounts of fast-acting nitrate nitrogen and slower-acting ammonium nitrogen,
  • The content of both ammonium and nitrate forms in almost equal amounts ensures the versatility of the nitrogen fertiliser on Polish soils,
  • Ideal for soils not very rich in boron (i.e. 80% of soils in Poland),
  • Ensures stable and high crop yields,
  • The yield is of good quality,
  • Better plant regeneration after winter,
  • Supports phosphorus uptake.

Salmag with boron is a universal granular fertiliser (granule size from 2 to 5 mm) intended for pre-sowing and top-dressing application. It is used in crops of winter oilseed rape, sugar beet, winter and spring cereals, potatoes, legumes, grassland, as well as in fertilising vegetable and orchard plants.

What is the composition of Salmag with boron fertiliser?

  • Total nitrogen N: 27%,
  • Nitrate nitrogen N: 13.5%,
  • Ammonium nitrogen N: 13.5%,
  • Total calcium oxide CaO: 7% (5.0% Ca),
  • Water-soluble calcium oxide CaO: 3% (2.2% Ca),
  • Total magnesium oxide MgO: 4% (2.4% Mg),
  • Water-soluble magnesium oxide MgO: 2% (1.2% Mg),
  • Water-soluble boron B: 0.2%.

How to use Salmag with boron?

It is recommended to use Salmag with boron primarily for maize and beet (both in manure and without manure) and for oilseed rape. It is also worth applying it to other root crops (fodder carrot, potato) as well as legumes. It will also work well in vegetable cultivation (including leek, onion, cabbage and root vegetables) and orchards.

For grasses and cereals in field cultivation and on grassland, it should be used in limited doses so as not to exceed 0.5 kg of boron dose (up to 250 kg/ha of fertiliser mass).

Salmag with boron is worth applying to soils poor in boron. In Poland, such soils account for over 80%.

The addition of calcium and magnesium means it is best if the fertiliser is mixed with the soil after sowing. When applied as top-dressing, if mixing with the soil is not possible, it is recommended to apply the fertiliser to moist soil or before expected rain.

We invite you to find more information related to the use of Salmag with boron fertiliser on the Vegetable Advisory and Orchard Advisory pages.

Application and dosage

Salmag with boron is a fertiliser for pre-sowing and top-dressing application.

Apply in split doses adjusted to the nutritional needs of plants. The amount and timing of fertiliser application should be determined based on:

- plant nitrogen demand (unit uptake x assumed crop yield per ha),

- plant condition,

- soil properties.

Depending on needs, supplement the nitrogen dose with a nitrogen fertiliser.
